  • Postgraduate Studies

    Activities of the Graduate Studies Department   Archive of the Department of Postgraduate Studies The department of  Postgraduate Studies is considered as one of the most essential supports at the university in which it represents a link between the inputs and the outputs of postgraduate studies. In the Engineering and Scientific Departments of the University in one side and with the presidency of the University and The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the other side. This department is participating in solving all obstacles and facilitating all problems that encounter students during their career, starting from accepting them in postgraduate studies till granting them certificates. This procedure would be fulfilled through cooperation among the Vicepresident President for Scientific Affairs of The University, Heads of the Departments, Scientific Assistants of the Heads and the Postgraduate studies sections in the departments in which they all present an interwoven and complete joint at the University.   Prof. Dr. Abdulhassan A. Activities

Below is a summary of the activities of the department:

1. Eifadat (inside and outside Iraq): It is an important and fundamental aspect of the development of various scientific knowledge. It includes participation in scientific seminars, workshops, conferences, seminars, specialized research and participation in cultural and scientific events of interest to the university.

2. Scholarships for obtaining the higher certificates of the master's and doctoral studies and for the various engineering and scientific specialties for the various university departments according to the actual need and according to the scientific plans of the university.

3. Scholarships granted to Iraq in accordance with the agreements concluded with universities and Arab and international organizations to obtain higher certificates and various disciplines.

4. Vacations for obtaining the higher certificates of the Masters and PhD studies according to the actual need of the University and according to the powers granted to it in order to fill vacancies and update the required competencies.

5- The scientific time for the teaching staff to complete scientific research outside of Iraq.

6. Research studies and research missions for postdoctoral students who receive a PhD degree, including short and long term studies, according to the regulations and instructions approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

7. Lending the services to teachers and providing the Arab universities with the teaching capacity of our university.

8. Implementation and completion of scientific research projects by training and development of teaching staff outside of Iraq according to the program of the ministry for holders of higher degrees from inside Iraq did not travel abroad to access and benefit from modern technologies to expand scientific and cultural benefits.

9. Implementation of the ministerial program for research missions for master's and doctoral students as well as professors supervising the students where the candidates for graduate studies of research missions in the event of completion of 25% of the completion rate of research in Iraq.

10. Implementation of the program to develop the competencies of the employees of the technicians and administrators who wish to obtain higher certificates in the preliminary studies, the program of the channel Almtaimin for the certificate of preparatory and diploma to obtain the degree of bachelor in and outside the university.

11. Contract agreements and memorandums of understanding inside and outside Iraq with different Iraqi, Arab and foreign universities and follow up their activation.

12. Contribution and participation in the activities and activities of international organizations and the Union of Arab Universities and Islamic Universities.

13. Completing and following up the annual scientific plan of the university.

14. Follow-up of the university curriculum.

15. Implementation and follow-up decisions and recommendations of the Scientific Committee for University Affairs.

16. Follow-up and coordination of training and development courses for members.

17. Follow up the joint work program with universities and other sectors in the country and send it periodically to the headquarters of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

18. Follow-up and implementation of science day programs, university day, university badge.

19. Follow-up and coordination of the work of the committees associated with the department, namely, the Human Rights Committee, the Committee for Psychological and Educational Supervision, the Committee for Granting Academic Vacations, the University Committee for Scientific Affairs.

20. To contribute effectively to the preparation of some scientific and cultural conferences of the University.

21. Follow up the process of writing, translating and supporting books in addition to the patent granted to teaching and employees of the university.

22. Coordinating computer literacy courses for university employees organized by the Center of Electronic Computing.

23. Program for the rehabilitation and training of employees of Iraqi universities in the framework of the Qatari grant to send Iraqi teachers to different international universities.

24. Participation in conferences held by the university, scientific departments and centers.
